Conquest Prayer

Tradition 'prayer conquest' is based on the story of one of the disciples of the Buddha is Mogalana who has supernatural powers so that he can go to hell to see the mother who had died. There he found his mother's ghost suffer greatly, become hungry ghosts, do not get food to try to bite his own finger. Seeing this Mogalana very sorry, and tried to extend the food for the mother, but each time the food was almost up to his mother's hand, the food was instantly turned into a flame.

Mogalana very sad, back to the world and asked the Buddha how they will be able to happen and how to help her mother. The Buddha explained that they will torment caused Mogalana mother works during the life of the world, miserly, stingy towards the poor, food waste, and are not grateful for the blessings in the world. Satu2nya way to free his mother from the pains of hell that is through Dedications. Mogalana then went home and sold all her mother's inheritance, donated entirely to the poor and follow the Buddha. After that he returned to hell and found the mother no longer had the horrible torment of it (get leniency).

The tradition of distributing rice noodles, cakes fruit etc. in the temples passed down from generation to generation until now to give people a chance in the world in order to do good virtues for the ancestors. According to belief on the date first seven months of the Lunar calendar the gates of hell opened wide the spirits down to earth given the opportunity to visit their grandchildren . On the 15 th they will have to return the spirits to hell and therefore on the date 15 months 7 in the family who still uphold this tradition they gathered and held a prayer to his ancestors with a dish full of favorite foods during his lifetime . For the spirits of their offspring do not provide the dish at home they will seek food in the temple hps atn( which usually will be distributed to the poor the homeless and beggars ) .
